THE SWEAT STOPS HERE!
The condensation that forms on the outside of a tank is moisture from the warmer basement air. When that basement air comes into contact with the chilled tank, the air loses its capacity to hold water vapor, and water droplets form on the tank’s cold surface.
With over 50 years combined experience in the water well industry, Tank Sweater founders Chuck Huebner and Trisha Vukodinovich were very familiar with tank condensation and the frustration it caused homeowners. Working with a skilled local sewing contractor, they developed the tailored, insulated Tank Sweater to serve as a barrier between the basement air and the tank. Without the contact, there’s no temperature change and unwanted condensation does not occur.
As it turns out, curtailing tank condensation has benefits beyond the elimination of unwanted moisture. With Tank Sweater you can minimize mold and mildew and health issues associated with these culprits while also reducing tank corrosion, utility bills, and basement odors.
